Introduction.
Introduction.
Hello everyone viewing this blog. My name is Azaan and I am a fan of technology. I have used quite a bit of technology over the holiday of my school and some of it has helped me in designing.
The first piece of technology that I used over the holiday is the same device that I am using to type up my this post... my computer. I had used it to watch videos and do some academic learning (Math for example). Sadly though, I didn't use it for THIS holiday to learn how to design. Yet there is a built-in software called, "3D Building," but I didn't use it during the holiday.
Another piece of technology that I used is, the iPad. Like the computer, I didn't use it to learn how to design and I only used it for learning information and also for playing games.
My phone was used to call, listen to music, and watch videos. Like you would imagine, sadly, it was not used for learning how to design.
But the only type of design that I did was, designing the style of shoes. Adding to that, this was done on a piece of paper and the outline of the shoe was traced out. The design of the shoe was created by me.
To conclude, my holiday didn't contain any learning of Digital Design. I hope this does not set me back on designing well in my Digital Design class this year.

Today, I had to needed to do something called a S.M.A.R.T Goal. If you were wondering, S.M.A.R.T stands for: Sustainable, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic, Target.
So the teacher told us to tell what our Smart Goal was. In this way, we had to have a goal in Digital Design that would is relating to the letters of S.M.A.R.T. So I just hoped that I would learn and use a new technique to help my family and friends when I could use that strategy. I also hoped that my grades would come out well in the 1st term report.
Finally, I was hoping that I will be able to get a close to the top 6. I know that I can do it because I do have an interest in computers and programming. So I feel that a level 6 is the best level to use.

MYP Design Cycle.
This is how it looks in real life. |
This is what we drew |
Whoa! What is in front of me? This is actually the MYP Design Cycle drawn by me, Hamza and Armaan. So we drew it and on the back we needed to give the examples.
The First thing that we did was that we looked up the MYP Design Cycle on the Internet. Then, Hamza using his drawing skills, we drew out the MYP Design Cycle and soon, Armaan and Hamza were both doing the writing inside of the Cycle Outline. MY job was to research all the different types of examples related to the MYP Design Cycle.
21/9/16
This is probably one of the most random things that I posted on this blog. So basically, this is the MYP Design Cycle using pictures instead of text boxes. So I finished the inner part of the MYP Design Cycle and now I am on my way to finishing the actual one. The one above is the Cycle that I was able to finish till the end of class.
I also forgot to mention... there was an inspector who came to our class. I completely forgot she could've come! So she starting moving around the classroom and seeing people's work. But she ask me anything.
This is what the finished one looks like.
As you can see, all I did was that I added more pictures related to the MYP Design Cycle's outer circle. I did a lot researching and found plenty of photos to relate to the text that the IT Design Cycle contained.
So I learn't more about the Design Cycle. I also learn't that I can use shapes in Word to make complex objects. Plus, my power of understanding text (from the MYP Design Cycle) became stronger by quite a bit.

26/9/2016.
We focused on the MYP Design Cycle again. This time, we started by watching a clip of children and a teacher working together to create a trailer. I am sorry that I don't have the clip, so I wrote down a very rough idea on what they did do.
So they started by exploring the problem and what they could do or what they couldn't do.
Then came the Exploring Ideas part. They find other ideas and take inspiration from them and they brainstorm as much as you can.
Next, they planned how they were going to see how it should look like, so they drew the plan.
Then they agreed on the drawing and created the real thing in 2 ideas. One was by using a big trash bin and making a cart with that. Another idea was used to make a cart using rods and tubes to hold the bags together.
They tested it to check for any problems. They did reach a few problems and so they fixed it again. They tested it again and finally got the right products.
The last thing they did was share their creation.
End of Clip.
So after watching the video, we had to create a poster on the steps that they followed in order. Finally, we finished the poster just in time and we needed to have 2 people to hold the poster while 1 person was the spokesperson. So I was the spokesperson while Adam and Christopher were the people who were holding the poster.
Now if you notice quite well, you will see that what they did was that they used the MYP Design Cycle and didn't just do anything by their minds. For example, when I mentioned that they checked for any problems, they fixed the problems and then finally (after getting the right solution) sharing the right solution with ideas... ALL RELATES TO CRITERIA D: Evaluating.
I learned that I should always follow the design cycle so that I get a successful result in the end. I also realized that the MYP Design Cycle isn't there to make Grading for teachers easier, but to make a proper and good project to be able to present.
